Picture Perfect: More About Our Workshop Offerings

Hey all, March was here, and quickly marched out! This month brought a change in weather, fun at our March Break camp, and lots of nature connection at our in-school workshops. Speaking of our workshops, let us tell you more about what we offer!

We understand firsthand that photography is more than just clicking a button; it's about seeing the world through a unique lens and telling stories without words. Our in-school workshops allow both elementary and secondary students to tell their story in a way that is best suited to them. Additionally, our workshops build upon one another, so once you book one, you’re able to keep on learning!

Elements of Design

For those just starting, the Elements of Design workshop for grades 3-8 combines an interactive photography lesson with hands-on outdoor exploration, finishing off with a fun nature activity. These photographers get to learn camera skills, explore nature, edit their photos, and share their work in a slideshow. It is a fantastic way to develop an eye for detail, encourage creativity, and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. We have teachers who book this workshop year after year!

“It is an amazing program. This is my eighth year using the program. It is an amazing day that students get to spend in nature.” ~ Heather R (Guelph- Wellington Region Teacher)

Indigenous Elements of Design

Another one of our workshop offerings is the Indigenous Elements of Design Workshop. This workshop blends the traditional Elements of Design Workshop with a culturally needed lens of Indigenity. We have a full blog post about this particular workshop offering, so we invite you to check that out for the full picture!

Principles of Design

The Principles of Design is the following workshop, geared towards students in grades 7-11. This workshop is more technically focused and helps students connect ideas, rather than seeing them independently.

Macro Photography and Light & Perspective

Macro Photography aims at grades 9-11 and focuses on mastering macro photography techniques. It's a chance to explore a different side of photography, focusing on precision and detail, and fostering a deeper appreciation for the world around us. Also for high school students is Light and Perspective, which blends science and nature.

The main idea we want you to take away from this blog post is that whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced photographer looking to refine your skills, there's a workshop tailored to your needs! With a focus on hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and creative expression, our programs offer a supportive learning environment for students to develop their talents and gain a new appreciation for the world around them.

So, book your Spring workshop with us today! Which workshop will you pick?
