Simon, who was Focus on Nature’s Executive Director from 2013 through 2023, has stepped back in as Executive Director while the Board undertakes a search for a new ED.

Abby connected with nature at a very young age as she has always enjoyed walking through forests, swimming in lakes and could be found chasing after butterflies. Abby’s favourite nature scene to photograph is the beautiful summer sunsets and sunrises with plenty of pink and orange hues!
Abby is a recent graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, having earned her BSW, minoring in Youth & Children Studies as well as Indigenous Studies.
In all settings, Abby enjoys interacting and collaborating with others and enjoys bringing her creativity into her projects.
Abby believes that children are the true change-makers of the world and their sense of wonder and eagerness to interact and photograph nature is inspiring. Through her work with Focus on Nature, Abby works towards bringing the goals, mission and impact of Focus on Nature to a variety of audiences through social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and X.
