Camp Registration is Open!

We have officially opened our camp registration for 2023! We have one March Break camp being held in Guelph and summer camps being held in Guelph, Hamilton, Oakville, Waterloo, and Cambridge!

Each camp location provides children with a unique opportunity to explore different environments around them. At the Guelph Arboretum, campers are surrounded by gardens, forests, fields, ponds, and other natural settings. These areas contain thousands of species of animals and plants, which make perfect subjects for photos! In Oakville, campers have a chance to learn more about photography in a gallery full of artwork at the Joshua Creek Heritage Art Center. For our Waterloo camp, the Albert McCormick Community Centre has a variety of walking trails to keep campers engaged and excited for new discoveries. These are just a few examples of the unique settings for our camps!

Our camps are designed to encourage and inspire campers through interacting with nature and photography. We spend time outdoors at each camp while we go on guided photo walks and play outdoor games and activities. Campers learn how to edit their images and create a photography slideshow to take home at the end of camp.

By the end of the week, campers will become familiar with the language of visual arts called the Elements of Design. They will also learn how to adjust the macro zoom and exposure settings to see their photos in a new light. The beautiful outdoor scenery is perfect for landscape and portrait photography, as well as exciting action shots. Many nature-themed games and activities are also played throughout the week to engage learning in a fun, interactive way.

The age range for our camps is between 8 to 12 years of age. Whether they are beginners or advanced photographers, Focus on Nature camps are for all skill levels! To learn more or to register now, visit our website!
