Bored? Looking for Something to do in Guelph/Eramosa?
Come to the region’s event of the year - Focus on Nature’s 8th annual Garden Party.
FREE FOOD. DRINKS. ART. FRIENDLY FACES
Hello!
Focus on Nature is a registered charity operating in Southern Ontario that inspires young people to explore and connect with nature through photography. We conduct workshops in schools and day camps in the summer and during March Break. We envision a world where our connections to nature create a healthy, flourishing planet. We see a critical role for the arts in fostering these connections.
Bring your family and friends and come for a fun afternoon. We'll have a new photo exhibit on display; a silent auction table loaded with unique prizes and one-of-a-kind experiences; and, as always, an array of fine food and drinks to enjoy. All this to share with you in the beautiful gardens of the Mactaggart Family Farm!
WHERE: 8124 Side Rd 20, Guelph/Eramosa Township
WHEN: Saturday, September 14th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The Mactaggart Gardens surround an 1850 red brick farmhouse and covers about 1.5 acres. The garden has been a work in progress since 1986 when the home was purchased by the current owners Bill and Leslie Mactaggart. The entrance of the house features two hand-assembled dry stone walls as well as Victorian-style porches and a gazebo.
Surrounding this beautiful home are the large perennial gardens featuring hostas, heucheras, daylilies, sedums, and a variety of trees and shrubs. You can also find a dedicated dahlia garden. While wandering the gardens, you will find two arbours created by Graeme Sheffield—a Guelph metal artist—as well as many garden sculptures, including works by Stephen Lewis and Andreas Drenters.
Previously seen on a number of Guelph and local garden tours, this is not a garden you want to miss out on.
Please register through Eventbrite, so we know how many people will be coming and can advise you of a rain date in case of poor weather.
